James Webb Telescope
NASA's James Webb Telescope (JWST) is scheduled to replace the Hubble Telescope in space in 2018. According to the agency, the JWST will study the history of the universe from the Big Bang up to the evolution of our own solar system. The project is not without controversy, however. The telescope is projected to cost $6.8 billion in total, with $3 billion already invested in its development, but the entire project may get the budgetary ax in 2012 when it comes under review in the House and Senate. Should JWST be canceled to save money?
